(PhysOrg.com) -- MIT researchers and designers are developing the Affective Intelligent Driving Agent (AIDA) - a new in-car personal robot that aims to change the way we interact with our car. The project is a collaboration between the Personal Robots Group at the MIT Media Lab, MIT’s SENSEable City Lab and the Volkswagen Group of America’s Electronics Research Lab.

I can't help thinking Microsoft Paperclip

Do you need to feed it and give some attention like these Tamagotchis from 10 years ago? Would be too bad if the car gets sad and gives you bad advice.

While I agree with your very apt observation, IMHO, comparing products that on the surface seem quite similar, when one is from a research lab at MIT and the other from "research" conducted by Microsoft is like comparing a BMW M3 with a Checker cab. There's the concept, and then there's the implementation.
