twnpipe
I have been wanting to run my car in but missed two autocross's locally. Last night I signed up with Speed Ventures for May 1st at Streets of Willow, they also run on Sunday. Can anyone else make it? I ran the track with my supermoto and Bmw sport motorcycle and found Streets is lower speed and tighter than most tracks, so looks ideal for 7's. $ 140 sounded ok for a day at the track as it was $ 75 for the Porsche autocross. Hope someone else can make it. Anyone else run with Speed Ventures?
MHKflyer52
Twnpipe, Car look very good. :cooldude: Are you going to keep it as a track car or are you going to get it street legal as time permits. Missed you in Santa Barbra and was woundering if your coming down to the Camarillo Auto-x this weekend as I will be their also.
twnpipe
I did get the 7 street legal in January but still working on the car, lots to finish. I need to build wider rear fenders (14") to cover tires for NASA events. This weekend I have to barbecue at an event then we have a party for my older son as he moves out of town to start a "real" job, after college. Camarillo airport ? is a great spot, I was not aware they were running again there.
MHKflyer52
Camarillo airport ? is a great spot, I was not aware they were running again there. Yep we are also putting on a driver’s school for new Porsche owners on Saturday (6:30am till 3:00pm) which I am also involved with besides the auto-x on Sunday (6:30am-4:00pm). The drivers school consist of car handling mainly for street driving (how the cars react when put into situations and what to do and what not to do), proper braking, skid pad and a basic class on auto-x how to. We limit it to 30 cars with new owners getting preference and then filling any open spaces with other Porsches. This class is full of new Porsche owners. The auto-x is also full at 80 cars with a waiting list. The Santa Barbra auto-x had 60 car limit and a waiting list of 23. The Camarillo auto-x is the one that a lot of folks come to due to the course length and that it is a bit faster due to the size and layout of the course. sdca7
I attend Speedventures track days pretty regularly. They have a good safety record, and although on any given day there is a wide variety of drivers, the upper groups tend to be very safe, friendly, and easy to be on track with. I'll be there either Saturday or Sunday. Look forward to meeting you and driving with another seven! Justin

twnpipe
Martin Sounds like the Porsche club has its act together. I'm part of a crew making 600 tri tip sandwiches tomorrow for a benefit tomorrow. If you make it up this way please give me a call and I'll take you to lunch at Jocko's in Nipomo.
