MHKflyer52 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 (edited) Well let me say that I normally do not polish the aluminum skin on my 7 due to the amount of labor it takes and that it has to be done on a routine bases and that my preferred way was to use a scotch bright pad to remove any imperfections to the appearance of the aluminum skin so until now my car has always been a dull finish. Last weekend 07-25-10 I attended the Central Coast British Car Club car show and was given a sample of a polish for metal while sitting talking to a friend with out the representative knowing what type of car I have so their was no bias in getting the sample bottle of the product. So this weekend I decided to give their product a try on my car as I figured if it did not work as the rep said it would work I would just get out the scotch bright and re-dull the finish of the area of the aluminum that I used as a test section. I then took a couple of photos of the rear panel of my seven before I started to apply the polish to the aluminum as the directions stated to do and all I can say is this stuff is great and I have tried a number of other polishes to put a shine on the aluminum skin of my car but always found it to be a whole lot of work and a lot of effort but this stuff is totally different and really works well as the photos show and yes I am now going to due the rest of the car and even consider wet sanding the aluminum skin with some 900g sand paper and then 1200g sand paper to get a lot of the surface scratches off so it come out even better that it did come out after 15 min's of work on the rear panel. Products name is Quick Shine Metal Polish their web site is www.quickshinepolish.com and I have no interest in the company but figured that anyone out their that has a polished 7 would be interested in this product as it works very well and dose what it says it will do. Here is a link to the photos of what I did in 15 min's to the rear panel of my 7. http://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/QuickShineProductPhotos?authkey=Gv1sRgCKD319zq962fhQE# Edited August 1, 2010 by MHKflyer52 Spelling in red.
