twobone
I went for a long drive last night. I'm finding the driving experience really unusual. I need to learn the trust the front end better. I'm used to sitting in the middle of a wheel base. My brain keeps envisioning understeer as I enter the turn because the front axle is way out in front. Then I keep expecting oversteer as I hit the apex as my butt sits on the tilting rear axle. I guess I will just reprogram myself with more practice. I weigh about 155lbs. What would be the approx front/rear weight distribution of the car with me in it? That info might help me assess the handling traits better. snookwheel
You may want to hit a couple autocross events. You can drive it at 10/10ths and not worry about hurting anything while you get to know the limits. Scott
MHKflyer52
You might also want to weigh your car so you know what the corner weights are as that will tell you what the balance is for your car and how it is set up. I also agree that an auto-x will also teach you a lot about how your car handles in a safe environment and controlled conditions.
twobone
Thanks I am hoping to get to an auto-x soon. I was recently surprised by the lack of understeer in the wet while doing a little unofficial skid pad in a wet parking lot.
