twobone
I'd like to refresh my bushings in my front suspension. In particular the top shock bushing is shot and the bottom trunnion bushing is also shot. I can find the trunnion set: https://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=144_148&products_id=4544&osCsid=463f8499f849ef77ac4b20496dfc12de But which of these do you think is the top shock bushing where it mates to the top wishbone? #1: https://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=144_148&products_id=1472&osCsid=463f8499f849ef77ac4b20496dfc12de #2: https://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=144_148&products_id=2119&osCsid=463f8499f849ef77ac4b20496dfc12de
bsimon
#1 looks about right for the shock bushing if you have Spax dampers. The Bilstein dampers are different. Not sure what was used on Koni dampers. #2 is the upper suspension link bushing. It's pressed into the cast upper link on the inboard end of Lotus Sevens and live axle Caterhams. It's actually a 636 suspension bushing that has been shortened and peened over. If your outer ball joint is worn, it's cheaper and a lot less painful to get a complete replacement cast upper link with the BP636 bushing already installed. Give Ben a call at CaterhamUSA and he can sort out what you need.
