Ruadhd2 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Just had my Mazda 13B engine rebuilt. It is getting broken in. Was told it takes about 1K miles. Just curious. How much oil is your rotary powered car losing (burnt or leaked) daily, weekly, every how many miles or by any metric you might use?
BusaNostra Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Puerto Ricans are excellent user of the rotary engine. They mix oil in the gas tank...the rotary is almost a two strokes. Rotary uses oils!! I used to have a 14a and still have my twin turbo (2nd generation), this darn thing uses a quart of oil every 1500 miles. The dealer replaced my 14A engine 3 times due to the APEX seal failure.
