jcochran
After many moons of subtle hints, veiled messages, and blatant bribing, She Who Must Be Obeyed has (reluctantly) agreed to let me start building up my very own SuperStalker. Despite my obvious excitement, I can't help but get the feeling that the wife is somehow regretting this decision. I don't know why that would be... ...I mean, it's not like I brought a supermodel-esque redhead into the household to share my testosterone-limited attention span. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif My first order of business is to get parts together and made serviceable before ordering the SuperStalker kit. I've been poking around car-parts.com for Series II L67 engines with good luck, but it doesn't contain customer feedback information for the various businesses. Rather than play Salvage Part Roulette, would any of you recommend working with a particular salvage yard for engines and other parts? Thanks mucho for the help! slngsht
Welcome to the forum. You'll find these cars are more demanding than the supermodel-esque redhead http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif In my opinion you can find cheaper / better engines than what's available through car-parts. I didn't source my engine from there, but when I was looking for an axle recently, car-parts places wanted $800 - $850. I bought it for $350. My suggestion is to frequent forums for cars that use the engine you want, and monitor their for sale section and buy from a reputable member there. People regularly part out cars. I think that's the way to go.
