MHKflyer52 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Well the Porsche Club of America Santa Barbara Region is putting on another autocross as a charity fund raiser for Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, October 29, 2011 so if your want to drive and see just how well you can drive your car this will be a good time to do so in a safe environment for a good cause. Here is a link to the web site where you can click on the link and down load the registration form or you can contact me and I will e-mail you a PDF of the form. http://pcasb.org/calendar/default.html All makes of autos are allowed so you do not have to own a Porsche or be a club member to come out and have fun.
MHKflyer52 Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 Just a bump to remind anyone who is considering this autocross its 16 days away.

MHKflyer52 Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 I signed up and looking forward to it. Had a shakedown day with local autocross and it went well. thanks Martin Looking forward to see you and your 7. See you at the autocross.....:cooldude:
MHKflyer52 Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 Ok here is the proposed course layout for the Oct 29 Autocross for any one that might be interested you can still register by e-mailing me at the address on the registration form up to the evening of the 28th or call me directly.
twnpipe Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Never seen an autocross with dimensions, well done. Is it setup for a dead stop cone or slow before exiting ? I assume you start from the bottom for a slow exit ? thanks
MHKflyer52 Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 Setup for a slow before exit and yes the bottom right is the start. Top right is the end and their is a path that will take the cars around the grid area and back to the start so that is why there is a slow down at the exit besides we do not want anyone running over our equipment at the very end of their run because they have spun out trying to squeeze that last second of time like some of us have done that are on this forum...............No Names will be mentioned
MHKflyer52 Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 (edited) Well we had a great turn out for the charity autocross for Habitat 4 Humanity with 48 cars participating, gerat weather (clear and sunny with a light breeze). We also had four Lotus 7's show up and run the event, sorry that I was only able to get three of them in a row and take a photo with my phone so the quality is not all that good but as the event orgainizer and chair I was just a little busy during the day. One of our forum member twinpipe was present and he had the second fastest time of the day with a 54.721 and he wass having fuel starvation issues with his Turbo Miata Powered 7 otherwise I feel he would of had the fastest time of the day which was 54.020 for the .73 mile centerline length course. OK here are my phone photos: Twinpipe crossing the finish on his best time. Three of the four 7's in a row. A view of the weather and event area. My friend and his VW Rabbit at the Autocross. Camarillo Auto-x 2011 on Vimeo Edited November 2, 2011 by MHKflyer52 Added Video of a friend and his run in his VW at the Oct 29 Autocross..
twnpipe Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Thanks Martin for a well run event with your own challenges. His crew had to setup at 5:15 in the morning using headlites, as the strip was used by a film crew the day before! Contestants showed up well before the sun as his group has such a good reputation for events. It was great to meet other 7 owners and swap notes, we were unaware of each other ? look forward to you driving your own car next time, you'll likely beat me as I watched you do a " warm up" lap prior to the event. xxx mph. on the straight! Ingmar
MHKflyer52 Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 Just added a video of the course from a friends VW Rabbit so you can see what it looked like.
