scannon
From the German TV show GRIP. Wish I understood German. The Miata has a Flyin' Miata supercharger system on it. I heard Mini Cooper S mentioned when they were talking about the Caterham, can anyone confirm that is the engine in it? The Atom has a supercharged Civic Type R engine. slomove
From the German TV show GRIP. Wish I understood German. Comments were a bit silly at times but that is probably the nature of TV entertainment. They did mention for the Miata 3.0 kg/hp, for the Caterham 2.9 and for the Atom 2.0. Obviously an R500 would have been the better comparison. They did not mention any differences in road behavior other than acceleration. I must admit if I tried to drive like that on an icy/wet road I would end up in the ditch in a hurry. But wait, now I remember I did try at Infineon several years ago in the rain and and yes, I ended up in the ditch.
Hank
Strap a supercharger on the engine, put a bunch of multi-colored racing stripes on the body, build a roll cage shorter than your head with a helmet on, and you still look gay in a Miata. Oh wait, it's a MX-5! Kinda like the Neon boys hate the name "Neon". It's a SRT-4 damn it! Kudos to the Caterham and Atom. Looked fun on the icy track. The plastic cars at the end over the rumble strip was a nice touch.
slomove
..... The plastic cars at the end over the rumble strip was a nice touch. The "Bobby Car" is a German Classic. I still have the one in the attic that my son used when he was 2 years old (22 years ago:rolleyes:). But the TV guys' performance was pitiful with these racers. The speed record is apparently 108 km/h. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5c/Bobbycar.jpg/300px-Bobbycar.jpg
