A few weeks ago I mentioned on this forum that I was going to the UK for the International Caterham Dealers Meeting to be held at the new Caterham CTI facility. Included on the agenda was a trip to the Caterham F1 Factory and a full day at Snetterton, with three Sevens, a SuperSport, CSR, R400 and of course the amazing SP300R. Out of the 30 of us at the Dealer's Meeting, 8 of us were permitted to drive the SP which in real terms is a Le Mans Sports Prototype LMP2

My stint in the car came right after the lunch break. (A full article will apear in "Low Flying" in the next few months. At present I am still in the UK and am unable to upload any photos. (watch this space)

Meanwhile I have attached a link to the Autocars test of the SP300R

The car is truly amazing. Snetterton doesn't have a long enough straight to run the car flat in 6th but I did have it on the limiter in 5th, which I guess is about 160mph. The car is super planted, with staggering brakes, fabulous gearbox and lightening-fast steering. My only criticism is the car feels underpowered for the chassis; however I'm sure that can be addressed very easily with some changes to the ECU.

I loved this car and it is our plan to bring one to Canada ASAP.
