XR4Bill Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Just a heads up for the Alberta guys or anyone else interested, all are welcome. A Blat is occuring on Sat the 15th Sept, weather permitting of course. Route to be decided at a later date, (next week). cheers, Bill.
XR4Bill Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 We talked on our last blat about going to Waterton Lakes National Park. Darren has sent a suggested route. looks good to me, any comments? Bill.
lancylad Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Looks good to me, we could meet up with you at Chain Lakes, intersection of 533 and 22. On the way back you could stop off at our place for refreshments..
Z3 Stalker Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I drove that route this time last year (in a van), some nice roads, not overly twisty but not bad. Is the plan to it in one day or an overnighter in Waterton Park?
RockyMtnStalker Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 It will be a bit of a run but 1 day should do it. Stewart - I was looking at the little loop on hwy 501 on the way to Cardston, do you think that is a paved section?
XR4Bill Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 We have been on the road from Mcleod to Cardston and it was paved. We can head out that way and turn around if its not paved. Looks like a good route. Gentleman start your engines. :hurray: Bill
Z3 Stalker Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Hwy 5 is all paved, infact the whole route there is nothing to worry about other than possible road works.
Jackal Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 My car will not be ready for this event either. I sure am getting tired of saying that, but at least I am making progress. I would be open to hitching a ride if there ends up being room for a passenger. I have a mini HD camera for taking videos and can offer my photography skills as well. (I use the term "skills" loosely)
lancylad Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Sorry to hear that the car isnt ready yet, cant offer you a ride SWAMBO just loves going on a blat. If we can get Darren along I think he usually has a spare seat.
lancylad Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Sunny but a bit chilly for Saturday blat, wrap up guys and gals.
lancylad Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Looks like 5 cars and a shotgun spot for Duane. Come on Brian make it 6 cars, that would be three Westfields.....
XR4Bill Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 Up to now we have Stewart and myself meeting at Bragg Creek at 9am. Then we are meeting Steve and Darren at approx 10:30 at Chain Lakes junction, 533/22. Just waiting for Zach and Duane to chime in, also possibly Brian and or anyone else thats turning out. Bill.
Z3 Stalker Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Well I guess I will be pulling the Stalker out of the trailer on Friday as that is where its been since the last blat LOL!!!

Z3 Stalker Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 OH! did I post that in this thread, I meant to post it in the "Stir The Pot" thread
ihckb2 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Oh my God......you mean your car has been cooped up in a salt air infested trailer since being on the island. Nasty nasty. Love to be able to fit it in, maybe next time.....have to get the stud screws into the winters to put on the 7 this weekend in preparation for ice racing.
