Z3 Stalker Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Naa... all salty air was blown out a couple of weeks ago on the Columbia Ice Fields Blat. Why don’t you join us on the upcoming blat, you would be welcome, I’ll even offer you accommodation, you know “live a little”. There may be enough snow/ice in the Rogers Pass to test your studded tires
Jackal Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I'm just posting here to ensure both the email group and this thread are on the same page. It was mentioned that there may be some room for passengers in a few cars. If I remember correctly there was one car with an open spot meeting in Bragg Creek at 9AM and another two cars with space meeting in Longview at approximately 10:30 AM. I can be at either of these points to tag along at the given times. I'd like to hitch a ride, but don't want to be a pain or take a seat that would otherwise be taken. If you know for sure there won't be a conflict over the remaining seat and wouldn't mind a tag along, let me know. Thanks.
lancylad Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Hi Duane, as I understand it, there are spaces available in either Darren or Zachs cars. Darren has the Stalker, brookland screens and no side screens. Zach has the Westfield, full screen, not sure about side screens. Darren is meeting up with me and Linda at 10.30 at Chain Lakes, the intersection of #533 and #22. great that you can join us. Looking forward to the blat. Steve :driving::driving:
RockyMtnStalker Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 The driving experience with the brooklands and no side screens is great! I do suggest a helmet of some kind, glasses and a face mask if it starts to rain or is cool out (below +10). Ear plugs or a mp3 player are also good to keep the wind pressure from bothering your ears. Based on the weather forecast of +16 I would dress for a sunny but cool drive. The early fall is the best time of year to drive these cars, you get to smell everything from fresh hay to freshly spread manure and the fall colors make the scenery quite impressive. Darren
XR4Bill Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 Up to now we have Steve.----Westfield. Stewart.--Stalker. Darren.---Stalker. Zach.-----Westfield. Bill.-------Locost. Morely.---Luego.----(possible) Brian.-----Westfield.-(possible) Mark.-----Lotus.-----(possible) Duane. Ride along. Room for more, there is no limit. Bill.
lancylad Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Its shaping up to be a good one...

Darren Would like to try the brooklands on my car. Cant get SWAMBO to wear a helmet tho. The smell of the outdoors is evident even with the full windscreen. Watch out for low flying manure Duane......
Z3 Stalker Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Not sure Darren will have a spare seat, it will depend if he invites Bear friend along on this trip LOL!!!
RockyMtnStalker Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Steve - If you get her the right helmet you can pull the dinosaur toque over it and she will look just as fabulous. Stewart - Hopefully "Teddy" will stay in the ditch this time or at least put his arm out before he crosses the road.
ihckb2 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Love to do it, but have to work this weekend, and I'm suppose to be retired. Some companies just won't let you go.
Z3 Stalker Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Know what you mean about work getting in the way of life. Next year we may try to make a trip to your neck of the woods.
lancylad Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Will you be trailering the car?........ :smilielol5: :lurk:
XR4Bill Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Stewart, you could park the trailer at Bragg Creek. (lol) Bill.
Z3 Stalker Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 No I thought I would just lead with my truck and trailer and not even bother pulling the Stalker out of the garage, no one would be any the wiser
lancylad Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 That would be cutting your nose off to spite your face!!!! Just wouldnt be the same without your smily face in the yellow beast.
Jackal Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I called up Zach, and we are sorted to meet the group in Longview at 10:30 AM. Yay! My first Blat! Next year I'll be driving, I promise.
lancylad Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Ok, lets get this sorted. Stew and Bill meeting in Bragg Creek and driving to meet Darren and Steve at Chain Lakes at 10.30. Are Zach and Duane meeting up with them at Longview? If so you need to revise the times.
