ianashdown Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Hi, I have a pair of Fiberglass Caterham seats, made by Tillett I believe, that I'll be fitting to my Caterham, but in doing a quick pre-fit I find the driving position rather upright. Does anyone else find that? I'm ging to be making some wedges, for want of a better term to tilt the seat back by 15 degrees. This feels much more to mu likeing and with my height 5' 10" gives me more than enough leg length and still lines up well with the seat-back bulkhead. If anyone else feel the same I could make some extras . . Ian
Alaskossie Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 If your Tilletts are like my carbon-kevlar ones, you can tilt the seat angle back by installing extra spacers on the front seat mounting bolts. You may need to put in longer bolts. Tillett makes plastic spaces for this purpose.
ayseven Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Yes, and if you wear a helmet, it is even worse, so you want a bit of lay back. 20 degrees rings a bell.
