I found this video that does a good job of discribing bump steer and how to measure with easy to find tools that you most likely already have. Quick easy weekend project for you favorite car.

Good video although I was a little confused at first.

 

He said as the wheel moved up it also moved out and I thought he was describing what happens was a natural consequence of having the bottom control arm set at a downward angle instead of being flat at ride height.

 

It took me a while to realize he was showing the deflection caused by the steering arm being at the wrong height.
