jimrankin Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 ok, that went so here goes. You will need two (2) of the "J" shaped pieces on the second page of the scan. I use bolts with springs and washers to tension the plate in place (see photo)but just using a couple of direct bolts or two springs pulling from the back would work as well and easier. I use a very hard 1/4" thick rubber pad from aft of the jack cut out to the back of the plates flat bottom to spread impact load to the pan around as much as possible. Line the inside of the "J" with some thinner rubber so it won't rattle. It's a skid plate, not an armor plate so around 10-12 Ga. stainless steel is about as heavy as you want to go. Pop rivet the 18" bar to the back of the skid plate. You will need to drill the "J"s to match the holes in the bar/plate once you have them in place over the frame rails. This allows the plate to slide/flex when hit hard so it won't shear off the mounting bolts or rivets. Thats it.
