The ongoing saga of SB1415 part 4

The wiring of Sybil was done by my best friend for the past 40+ years, Steve (sitting in the car circa 1977 in pic2 http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=8820 ). The problem with the wiring was 3 fold: bad and loose wires; only 2 fuses for the whole car; I wanted to switch from a generator and positive ground, to alternator and negative ground. Armed with nothing at all, he designed, and we made, on the run, the new wiring harness and alternator bracket. His working diagram (pic2) was done in a lock-up (garage) with very poor lighting. But it worked. Steve later presented me with a more formal schematic (pic3). A few years later I bought a workshop manual for the 7, which includes a wiring schematic (pic1).

I am currently re-making the loom because the original was made with only 6 colours of wire. I stripped an old Volvo I sent to the wreckers a few years ago and have a variety of colour combinations to work with now.

More to come.
