snookwheel Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Goodyear stopped making the r160 compound in 22x10x13 and 20x10x13. So i am giving the American Racer Asphalt m28 compound tires a shot for the rear, 21.5 x 10x13. They look a lot smaller that the Goodyears.... Using Avon 20x9.5x13 in A11 compound for the front. Anyone have input re the American Racer tires? I have heard some great comments (Minehart's ran them at the Dixie national tour last weekend).
super7guy Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Just a note regarding AR tires. These tires are designed for USAC midgets that have specific rims sizes in each corner. Some have the tried the tires only to find that they were using a specific front tire on a rear drive application. If it doubt, call Boudin tire in Iowa. You can talk to Troy Boudin regarding AR tires. I will be trying out the new SC2100 8x20-13 on my Cat Super 7 D mod this weekend. This tire has increased sidewall stiffness. Wayne
