locostv8
There seems to be problem with ChrisW the forum admin setting the switch to eliminate the Nag screen. Many, myself included have made payments months ago with no response to either emails or U2Us. If it wasn't such a good forum for all things 7 it wouldn't be worth the bother. Use caution going thru the contribution screen since it would be easy for a hacker to get your Paypal info, NOT GOOD. http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=66601&contribmessage=none http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=67546
locostv8
So instead of doing the right thing here is the response to making a donation and repeated requests to do take action here is Chrises action. It appears that this posting was still not enough to prove CONTRIBUTION and get rid of nag screen. No, it 'appears' that if you are rude to me, you'll wait longer. Unfortunatly for you, every time I think 'that chap has waited long enough' I find another abusive post from you. This time I've had enough. Went to update your account, but seems I pressed the 'ban' button instead. Oooops, never mind. Anyone else who is missing a contributor tag EMAIL me (not u2u, not post on here, not carrier pidgeon, not any other method you can think of) with an obvious subject line so I can see it through the spam and I'll sort it out. slngsht
Wow! Sounds like the site has grown beyond what one person can effectively run. What is the "nag screen"?
locostv8
LocostBuilders is a FREE service, supported by sponsorship, a little advertising revenue, and YOUR DONATIONS! I operate LocostBuilders in my spare time, with connectivity donated to the cause by my business, NetrinoUK. I make no money from the site - donations, trader's subscriptions, and the little advertising revenue generated goes straight back into maintaining server hardware to ensure the site runs quickly and smoothly with a substantial amount of money coming from my own pocket - money that I would far rather spend on building my car! If you would like to contribute towards the site's running costs you may do so using the Paypal link below. A single donation of £5 or more entitles you to an exclusive 'Contributor' message under your username to show all other users that you have made a donation. Also, if you are a new user, you can bypass the 7 day/10 posts requirement to post advertisments in the market place (providing you are not a trader!) and of course, this annoying message won't keep appearing! Contributing to the site is entirely optional. When I started the site I made a promise to keep the site a free resource and will endeavour to keep this promise to the Locost community. Please ensure your username and/or email address used on the site are included within the 'Notes' section when making your payment. Contributions are usually processed with 24 hours however, if your account has not been upgraded with 36 hours please drop me an email. Thankyou for reading! Continue to the thread you requested by clicking here. in the middle is a button which is a link to Paypal which in keeping with financial security is a no no. Even if the site is trustworthy a hacker could intercept and get your financial info.
slngsht
as long as you are not entering your paypal info on his site, you should be OK. it should just have a button that takes you to a secure paypal page.
locostv8
That is true in most instances but it would be too easy for a hacker to watch and provide thier own pages to collect info.
