maurice1
Hi Anyone fitted the Caterham type nose winglets to a Birkin. I know how to attach but just wish to see where people have positioned theirs. Photos would be great. http://www.aerodynamix.co.uk/carbon-canard-winglets.html Thankyou Maurice Edited September 4, 2014 by maurice1
MightyMike
I installed a pair onto my old Birkin. I will post photos and comments when I get to my computer.
MightyMike
Before I drilled any holes or took any measurements, I covered the sides and top of the nosecone with blue painters tape. After that I placed one of the canards on the side of the nosecone and figured out a position that looked best - nothing scientific. After finding the optimal placement, I drilled holes in the canard and nosecone. I used a cloth tape measure to determine locations for the holes I would drill for mounting. After that, I replicated the hole locations on the other side of the nose cone. Before drilling holes, I mocked everything from the front to see how it looked with both canards on. Once satisfied, I drilled holes on the other side and mounted everything. http://i58.tinypic.com/2csf608.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/eulkqb.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/2l8vnyu.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/29ymsux.jpg
maurice1
Thankyou for posting the pictures Mike? and also how you went about fitting, like you how they look in position will dictate where they are located. Cheers Maurice
