Rettedm Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Leakdown on the caterham 1700 last night revealed leakage from #2 cylinder through #3. Appears to be head gasket time. What is the best head gasket for a road 1700? Thanks, Dave
TheDingo8MyBaby Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) Depends on compression ratio... If you're running a high compression, spend the money and get a high quality gasket, but I'd stay away from MLS if you just have a street motor. Most Formula ford guys seem to run Fel-Pro without any issue, but they have a compression ratio of 10:1. Since I'm running 10.7:1, I spent a bit more money and I've been pleased with my Ajusa head gasket from Burton Power. Edited September 24, 2014 by TheDingo8MyBaby
