Donnie Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Recently bought a 1962 Series 2 and would like to keep it relatively original. My door cards are black painted aluminum. I have found red/orange vinyl which is close to the original color but am undecided whether to cover the aluminum or use it for a pattern to recreate something closer to original. Anyone know what might have come with the car? Thanks for any help. Don

robolt Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Not sure if it is 'original', but look at kydex, you can get it in a variety of colors and thicknesses. I have used in in aircraft interiors.
gus Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 I still have some of the material left over UPS is mercenary when shipping 2 foot by 6 foot pieces so location is key, I am in the northeast It is somewhat 'brighter' than the original color, so I would recommend doing the dash as well. Caterham did some special editions with red interiors, but the side panels were their 2 piece style, so not correct. Some dealers[rocky mnt?] used to list pieces of material for sale years back
Donnie Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 Found some material and recovered the aluminum. Came out great. Thanks for the replys.
