  The rear shocks are on their way from England. I'll weld the lower shock mounts once I have the shocks in my hands.

  The tank strapped in place. I will use a rubber strip under the fuel tank's straps for the final assembly. The next step is welding an angled fill-tube to the tank and picking up a short length of rubber hose to attach it to the Monza cap's nipple.

  Two of these tabs extend beyond the tank for the retaining straps. The aluminum nut-serts allow easy replacement should the threads get buggered up.

  I've decided to put my steering rack behind the front axle like the early 7's which requires cutting the rack and it's housing down by at least 10". The rack is as easy as cutting then machining new threads and the keyway into the non-gear end.

  The standard battery developed for the Mazda Miata was the perfect size for this little Lotus.

  The battery box to be located behind the passenger's seat. Those two holes are for aluminum nut-serts. That way if a thread gets buggered up I can replace it without damaging the paint.

  Like the rest of the frame, I'm tig welding with silicon bronze rod. This requires less heat that steel rod, less time than the originally brazed frames and still has that brazed look.
