My pre-lit Westfield with a x-flow and no weather equipment weighed 1140 pounds with an empty fuel tank.

I forgot to mention I also used to autocross the car in the Detroit Region, with the original powertrain. It was very quick. It could be yet more effective with the 4AGE motor, and particularly with the LSD. With 6 kiddos I just don't have the time unfortunately.

Nope, the sneakers have sentimental value.. they stay with me! Like most sevens, this one requires that you wear your narrowest shoes. My size 12's fit, but it's way too tight to drive to California.

Darrell, I tracked down your picture post and admired your Westfield #52. Very nice. Love the shine on that fiberglass! Glad to see it's on the road being driven!

I was contacted with some good questions so I thought I'd post the answers here for everyone: Mileage: I don't have an exact mileage. The VDO gauges in the car were bought used from another vehicle, and I never hooked that speedo since I found I never used the prior Smiths instrument. With the Ford motor in it the chassis did 12000 miles on the prior Smiths speedo. Since then the vehicle has probably done around 3000 on this engine. The engine was a used Japan engine. Strong compression on all cylinders so I did not rebuild it. Power: 145 hp is an estimate based on all the 4AGE websites out there for a Redtop with stock cams and 40 DCOE. There's a lot of info out there. I also own adjustable cam sprockets to re-time the cams and shape the torque curve, but I never installed them since it's already pretty strong. Next owner might want to take that on. The engine uses the stock cast 4-into-2 header with a custom fabricated 2-into-1 sidepipe, since the 4AGE tech sites recommend that the stock header actually flows very well for motors Driveshaft: I had Auto-Cycle-Marine here in Detroit weld me a short shaft with yokes to match trans and axle. No problems; they do great work. Limited Slip Diff: The LSD is a classic clutch Salisbury type standard in the Alfa axle. I consulted a very successful local SCCA racer who advised me to remove one of the reaction disks on each spider gear and replace with an additional friction disk, to increase the slip-limiting torque. It provides great function when burying the throttle mid-corner and has made the car very steerable. Makes no noises etc. Wheel PCD: The wheels are 4x4.25" bolt circle, same as Ford Cortina. Title: It is titled in Michigan as a 1987 assembled vehicle. Has a VIN starting with "MI" then a series of numbers. I insure it at my regular agent along with my Ford Focus etc. Weather equipment: It has the factory top and also sidescreens. I will post more pics at weekend of engine compartment and weather equipment.

Pre-litigation (Aluminum) Westfield Super Seven for Sale I built this car in 1987 when I was 23 years old. One owner. Has been driven almost every summer since built. It is one of the earliest left-hand-drive Westfield Sevens, chassis number 114. The kit was shipped directly from the Westfield to my home in Michigan. “Pre-litigation” refers to the models that Westfield built before being sued successfully by Caterham Cars for making a Seven that was too close to the original Series 3 Lotus Super Seven. This means my car is visually faithful to the original Lotus 7, including vey nice aluminum skin. It is built with a modern square-tube epoxy-coated frame and significantly more robust suspension than the Lotus, thankfully. After driving it for years with a Ford 1.6L Crossflow, I upgraded it 6 years ago to a more modern and powerful 16v 1.6L Toyota 4AGE. Wow, what a difference. The car loves to rev and pulls strongly. I also added a very necessary limited slip diff and more braking power. This is not a screaming high performance MegaBusa car, nor is it a funky looking knock-off.
