I went to change the oil in my s2k and there is no oil drain plug. The pan seems to be welded around the edges. There is a bolt with a wire on the rear drivers side that I think is oil pressure sensor. Where do I drain it from. I'll post pictures later.

WCM S2K: wanted to confirm team dynamics wheel size
wcmgoldie replied to wcmgoldie's topic in General Tech
Is there a huge difference between the 255 and 275 rears to make it worth scrapping my new tires I bought? Maybe I should just run the set up I have for a year and then switch to 255. The wheels are ugly though. Walmart mounted the tired and said. Hey! Some idiot spray painted those wheel and all the paint came off. I was like no ... Thats powder-coat. -
WCM S2K: wanted to confirm team dynamics wheel size
wcmgoldie replied to wcmgoldie's topic in General Tech
Oh wow I never knew about the heat up issue. That's depressing now that I have a new set of $1000 R888 I'm not sure what to do now. I got the R888 because the Rt615 were sliding everywhere and almost got me killed... Maybe they were just too wide. -
I know this has been discussed a lot but I wanted to confirm the wheels sizes people ordered that fit right for the team dynamic wheels. Lourn stated 5x100 17x8 e35-38 for the front and 17x9 e42-45 for the rear. Team dynamics sell the 17x8 in both 35 or 38 offset and nothing In between. Which one should I get? The rear I assume I should get 17x9e45 since the only other offset team dynamics makes is 40. I'm using R888 tires 235 and 275 rear. They are 1" wider than my previous Rt 615 and the front is barely clearing my fender bracket in front and flush with fender on the outside. I guess I could take my wheel to a shop and have them measure them but I thought I would ask here. I kind of trust people on here more than the wheel shops around my place.

Thanks for the responces. I was replacing the exhaust because it leaks and looks awful. It's rusty and dented
-
A similar post may have been discussed before but I was wondering what diameter exhaust people have for their headers, and exhaust. I was thinking 3", which I have already is killing the low end. I was thinking of doing 2.5". I think my headers are 1-7/8" if I remember correctly. Any suggestions?

I need new steering rack boots for my ultralight. Anyone know what rack is used?
-
Some ultralights have scissor hinges that keep the hood help up. My car has nothing and I just pull the whole hood off. I would like a set of hinges to keep it held up. Are the custom or does a company make them?
-
I found my digital caliper the bar is 1-3/8". There's not many clamps made for that size
-
I needed rollbar clamps for my o5 ultralight and I measured it and thought it was 1.5" the 1.5" clamp flopped around on the bar so I ordered 1.25" and that is too small. Are the rollbars a weird size like 1-3/8" ? I used the piaa light mounts and they dodnt fit. Anyone know of any aluminum ones that fit?

Thanks it will be there Tuesday

I took apart my front suspension assembly and tore the balljoint boot. Does anyone know what ball joints they are so I can order a new boot? Pics: http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww172/showciv06/IMG_3401.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww172/showciv06/IMG_3400.jpg

wcmgoldie replied to wcmgoldie's topic in General Tech
Yea they use those driveshaft parking brakes on hot rods because there is no room or anything else. They are made for the driveshafts of the cars that are made to build them. With our cars everything would have to be custom and costly if you are not doing it yourself. The best solution is inline hydraulic valve on the existing brakes if you can find the correct parts -

help: WCM s2k spot caliper parking brake install
wcmgoldie replied to wcmgoldie's topic in General Tech
yea i heard they dont work well. for one I wanted it for inspection because most people won look at the car without it. It wont pass emissions here without a check engine light too so thats another issue. -
I recently bought my WCM ultralight and it came without a parking brake. A friend of mine had the wildwood parking brake kit off is ultralight that he wasn’t using because it rattled a lot. He wasn’t sure exactly how it worked or mounted. His ultralight has the big brake kit with drilled rotors in the rear, mine has smaller blank rotors. I ran into a few problems with the install. For one, the bracket rubs on a small lip on the inside of the rotor. It just barely touches and I was thinking of grinding out the bracket to clear the lip since the caliper bracket is about ¼” thick and only would have to be ground down 1mm to clear. The other issue is that I’m not even sure how the spot calipers function mechanically. Wilwood has nothing on their site to help. It looks like its missing pieces but my friend said that how it was when it was taken off the car. I can’t see a way that the mechanism compresses the caliper. It just has a lever that flops around with a bolt inside. I wanted to see if any of you with blank rotors in the back had the same bracket or if mine is specific for the big brake kit. WTB: world class motorsports hood emblem
wcmgoldie replied to RGTorque's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Ill trade you for your 7 grill -
If anyone had and ultralight carbon dash around from a build I would be interested.
-
Xcarguy - you are right they did put a spacer In the left lode that is rubbing so apparently someone was aware of a problem. Ill have to see exactly what was repaired and maybe have it done the right way if I can find someone that knows what they are doing.

I noticed it looked like one of the hiem joints was rewelded onto the bracket but the gap is 3" on both sides of the car where bother bars are welded to the bracket. It doesn't make sence how everything can be symmetrical but the strut is off center. I will have to do some more measuring and take the wheels off on Tuesday when I'm not working.
