My three British buddies, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/D110%20200Tdi/IMG_6353_zps298363b7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/Super%207/IMG_7124_zpsfacb9900.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/Super%207/IMG_8109_zpse84f419d.jpg

While googling Caterham hard tops (I enjoy seeing the garage specials out there) I came across this site. I remember reading Garagista articles in the past when I owned a 240SX turbo so this was exciting. Brookland style wind screens are really growing on me! http://thegaragista.com/2012/11/18/japan-lotus-day-2012-ジャパン・ロータスデ-2012-part-2-sevens-elans-ロータス-セブ/

Sounds good. I really hope its doesn't turn in to $20k of tinkering too!

It's actually a 996, which I sold about a week ago. My 998 Project bike lives on but has lost a bit of garage space this week. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/Super%207/IMG_5735_zps215decc8.jpg

47" from base of seat back to end of driver floor board. 41" from base of seat to brake pedal.

I can see the benefit of a bit of insulation between the hot head and the intakes. I wasn't sure if it was an add on or stock. I'll make sure they go back on. This bonnet is a replacement that I ordered from Caterham, old one was lost in transport. It's off by maybe an inch which is quite a bit. One course of action is to just have the local body shop move the hole slightly aft. Im going to give a foam filter a go then decide if I need to cut or not. Thanks for the link. I was thinking about getting a new distributor and wasn't getting very far on ebay and google. Ordered some plugs from ebay UK earlier today, grabbed a coil from auto zone.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/Super%207/IMG_6202_zpsd1d778a7.jpg Are these spacers required or are they an extra? if I had just a normal cork gasket I might have the clearance I need to run a foam filter without cutting the bonnet. I might even be able to keep the K&Ns that I have now. Any advice? I have everything apart because I wanted to get a look at the distributer since the car is no longer sparking. Im getting new plugs and a coil this afternoon and trying to see if that helps. Oscar

Hello, I'm Oscar. I have had my Seven since 2011 but she has been in storage since I have been deployed to both Iraq and Kosovo since then. I finally moved her from my storage unit to home. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/Super%207/IMG_2171_zps359ebd97.jpg Didn't make it home maybe bad gas from being in storage so long. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/Super%207/IMG_2227_zps3cf3e385.jpg Plan B, My buddy Cory and his little boy's truck and Uhaul. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/Super%207/IMG_2230_zpsad579174.jpg Home, well home away from home while I'm in alabama. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/Super%207/IMG_2233_zpsecc7f6ed.jpg

I was always wondering why everyone wasn't rebody'ing 7s. I think it looks awesome. I wouldnt do it but it looks very cool. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/6264757214_a6fcacfce5_o_zpsd0bec5a3.jpg

ahh, I like the cycle style rear fender look. I guess larger rear wheels go along with that. Thanks for the pm.

I'm going to make an attempt at getting the car home this weekend. Then pull off a wheel and get some good measurements... somewhat after the fact considering wheels will be here next week ha. Hey Xcarguy, do you still have those Proxes R1Rs? Does WCM sell fenders?
-
Thanks for the pics. I hadn't noticed you posted them. That looks like it would work perfectly. how long are your horns? Do they touch the filter? Thanks again. Oscar

I'm not surprised it looks like a cool setup. Is it completely custom like a one off? What's it based on if it's not? If I could find a smallish trailer for a 7 around here I would have bought instead of renting one this weekend.
-
Looks neat. Better pictures showing it in operation may help the sell but I would pick it up if you were local.
-
Great information, thank you. great looking 7.
-
what size are your wheels and tires? Do you happen to know the wheel specs? Oscar
-
seats are non adjustable and I have never looked at the pedals. Next time I'm at the car I'll take a closer look and maybe measure from base of the seat back to the brake pedal as a point of reference.
-
It should be just inside the fender edge if my calculations and measurements are accurate. and there should be plenty of room on the backside. If its close I could always machine a few millimeters off the adapter. have you ever seen a 7 with lug bolts instead of lug nuts and studs? I can't order the adapters till I find out and I wont have time to get to my storage unit until the weekend. I'd say it's likely that its a nut/ stud set up but I guess I can wait.

Decided to go with a 15x8 +20 wheel all around (although I will likely order the 8.25" rears once I get an intimate understanding of the clearances). I just have to make sure I have lug studs vs lug bolts and then I can order some adapters. This set up looks like I will be just a few tenths of an inch inside the fender which should work out nicely. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v74/Ahhsk/ScreenShot2013-08-26at81211PM_zps39029419.png

I couldn't say with any certainty about the fit, but you can feel free to come over anytime if you are in the south east and go for a drive.
-
Well that settles the backspace math problems I ran into. thanks! Oscar

No longer for sale. can't go into the winter months without something in pieces in the garage.
-
That makes sense. I'll add a small lip to my diagram next time I measure out a potential wheel. I'll measure of my rear fenders this week they look pretty wide but I don't think they are 12". Maybe bigger fenders will get me that extra .875".
-
how wide do your rear fenders go out from the tub?
