Anyone going to British Car Day at Bronte Creek?

The Fejer was built in Newmarket, Ontario back in the mid '80s. I used to visit there and knew George Fejer. He and his brother's claim to fame was that they (supposedly) built Steve McQueens race cars and I think modified the Mustang in "Bullitt" (he did have pictures on the wall of the brothers and Steve and the cars). If your kit came with doors, you can thank me, 'cause George borrowed mine to pattern them.

It is. Still learning what all these things are. I'm new to forums. (and old to boot)

The wiring of Sybil was done by my best friend for the past 40+ years, Steve (sitting in the car circa 1977 in pic2 http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=8820 ). The problem with the wiring was 3 fold: bad and loose wires; only 2 fuses for the whole car; I wanted to switch from a generator and positive ground, to alternator and negative ground. Armed with nothing at all, he designed, and we made, on the run, the new wiring harness and alternator bracket. His working diagram (pic2) was done in a lock-up (garage) with very poor lighting. But it worked. Steve later presented me with a more formal schematic (pic3). A few years later I bought a workshop manual for the 7, which includes a wiring schematic (pic1). I am currently re-making the loom because the original was made with only 6 colours of wire. I stripped an old Volvo I sent to the wreckers a few years ago and have a variety of colour combinations to work with now. More to come. B C-ing U

I never throw anything out, just can’t find it right away. Found this original sales pamphlet from the 80’s. I’ve also posted in the thread http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=8358 Anyone read it?

Something old something new: Pic 1: Me and Sybil circa 1979 Pic 2: wiring, wiring and more wiring Pic 3: an original factory shot of the boys assembling one at the Earl's Court Car Show (note inset in bottom corner of how the body bulges to meet the frame so the nose fits snug against it) Pic 4: One more thing I had to fix that someone else had done wrong. The body, after re-skinning by an "expert", was flush to the upright and didn't flare. It does now.

Depends. Do you want it in the next 20 years?

Pics are: 1 Shocks and springs before 2 Shocks and springs after 3 The brand new, improved, home made wiring harness. 12 fuses no less

OK I'll do a bit every night till I get to its current state.

Just joined this forum and found this thread. Originally the Fejer was built in Newmarket, Ontario back in the mid '80s. I say, go ahead and put it together yourself. I'm sure we can all help along the way and we even have a couple (ihckb2 and Chad from Ontario) as a references. In the end you'll be glad you did. I've been restoring mine since yours was new and have learned to do so much.

So I'm posting some more pics of the restoration's progress. Pic 1 stripped to the bare chassis Pic 2 chassis repainted Pic 3 jig for the new cowl Pic 4 starting to come together All pics are circa 2005 Will keep posting more if anyone is interested

Will post pics of its condition presently Be seeing you

I joined the "Lotus Club Canada" back in 1978, even before Hugh Sutherland! Was a member till the newsletter went electronic, then never got a membership fee reminder and fell through the cracks. Asked at British Car day who to talk to but got no definitive answer. Now... lets see if I can follow xcarguy's instructions and post some shots.

Oh look my picture is there!!! The computer must have been listening. Now how do you put pictures in the tread?? By the by I also have a Lotus Plus2 hence the name

Hi Canadian 7 and lancylad I don't live in Toronto any more. I've moved to Barrie. I've tried to put in a picture in the avatar but it just keeps failing. As for just posting pictures ???????? I hate computers cause they are always smarter than me and know exactly what I want to do. I never seem to be right.

Hi y'all I have had my 1962 Lotus 7 since 1977. I bought it in Glasgow, Scotland, drove in around Scotland, England and Ireland then shipped it back to Toronto. It's been off the road being "restored" since 1986. In between build homes and working and having so called pros doing work on it (most of which I've had to re-do) it's taken till now that I'm retired to get it to the point where if I really try I may have it on the road by next spring. That's the plan anyway. Hope I can get some tech advice along the way. Be seeing you
