  1. Security was laxed at the secret Pennsylvania Q facility. These pictures were taken earlier this afternoon. While the front mounted machine guns and the sophisticated oil dispersal units were of interest, it was the button labeled sub that frightened the criminal underworld. What other secrets could this car hide?
  2. Thanks. I am just glad that they didn't ask me to have them pass a crash test!
  3. I would recommend using an enhanced inspection station that has dealt with your type (kit/replica) of car before. I would look at the list on the website and start by calling them first. The shop I used pretty much had only done hot rods before. I used them because they were close and I knew them. Not the best way to choose but it worked out in the long run. good luck.
  4. Thanks. I figured that if I had to do it; I'd make it look the best I could, since I know it was pretty much worthless as a bumper.
  5. No, I did not call them. I figured that once the state inspectors got involved it was best not to change. It would not have made a difference in what they wanted done to the car at that point. If I were starting anew, I would certainly do it differently.
  6. The wheels are Enkei and it did come from CO. My son and I flew out and drove it back to PA on Labor Day weekend last year.

  8. Feast your eyes on a Pennsylvania DOT compliant 2001 Birkin. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13568&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13569&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13570&stc=1 The obvious additions for compliance are the bumpers, reflectors and exhaust wrap. The not so obvious being various warning lights (+wiring), washer fluid pump (custom reservoir , plumbing, button) , AS1 windshield and defroster. I have learned a lot more that I expected and not just about cars (Patience, bureaucracy, humili
  9. Nice to see some press but reminds me of Sunday magazine fluff.
  10. No I have not looked at it. Not even sure that they are interchangeable. But it certainly is a good idea.
  11. Thanks Tom. That seems pretty reasonable.
  12. It is listed as a 2001 S3. But I saw in MityMikes post that it might really be a 1999.
  13. Can anyone give me an idea what a replacement nose cone costs? Thanks
  14. Installed. They don't have much of sense of humor or imagination.
  15. Velcro might work. I was thinking whoopy cushion and surgical tubing. I velcro it to the side of the footwell and activate it with my knee.
