  2. Thanks for sharing! What a fun project, If I were a lot younger, I would have bought it!
  3. love the white, more pictures here,,,,,,https://classicmotorsports.com/articles/riding-rails/
  4. Its my understanding that the piping on the fenders and the interior panels were all cream white, regardless of the car color. currently unavailable but keep checking back on this site,,,http://www.lotus7.com/LOTUS_7_parts.html I wasnt sure using it on my original black car, but looks detailed!
  5. This is my go to source for anything auto glass related , https://www.crlaurence.com/products/brands/listing/C06AB_AU On many specialty cars, I have also used recessed rubber shims to center the glass in the channel, then run a bead of GE Black Silicone around the glass filling between the glass and channel, then let it dry and trim it flush with a razor blade, looks perfect. Glenn
  6. Mine is read from the rear, I think they all are.
  7. I may be able to help, can you pm me the details?
  8. I did email the guy that posted it on Craigslist, he is selling it for a friend. It was taken apart many years ago and stored in an attic. He is no longer able to work on the car and will not sell parts, all or nothing at this point. I am waiting for another email with the chassis number or photo of the number plate. Hopefully we can find out some history.
  9. Just searching for parts and ran across a project car with lots of extras for sale near me. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/pts/7572270477.html NOT MINE!
  10. Has anyone tried the old school bias ply Firestone 520-13 tires that Coker sells? They look almost identical to the original Dunlop Goldseal that were used on my 1963 Super Seven. I do not plan on racing, just cruising around and cars and coffee kind of things. Not cheap at $199 each.
  11. Not mine, just saw this Craigslist for quite a bit of rough parts! https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/pts/d/seattle-lotus-series-rear-axle-front/7513588735.html
  12. Do you know Judy? Great lady! Still looking for wheels, thanks for the tire info! Glenn
  13. Hi Joe, thanks for the tips, i will look up 2072 to further my education! Luckily, my car came with a spare bonnet as well as a spare left front fender ands a set of wide rear wings! Thanks again! Glenn
  14. Are they not in the correct location based on this photo of the car when it was new? I'm trying to learn as much about these cars while repainting it! Thanks!
  15. I talked to Judy last week, great lady! She said I made her day when I told her it was going back to black as she didnt like it in yellow, I'm with her! The final decision in repainting it was after buyuing it sight unseen, the quality was race car quality at best, looks much better in photos! Rough around the edges, but thats just me being fussy! I have an original paint 72 Pantera that looks great in yellow though.
  16. Thanks for the heads up! Not sure if I want the correct cream piping or the invisible black as it will be painted black. It has all new VDO nos gauges which I will leave alone.
  17. My curse is the pursuit of perfection and originality! I’ve had the honor of restoring some of the best cars in the world, mostly vintage race cars and Pebble Beach concours cars and would like to see it black again. I realize this is a very old car and has been raced and changed through out the years. It’s not a very high priced car and hope it will be a fun car to play with. Where else can you have that much fun for the price of a Toyota! Jim Downing is a very successful race car driver and owner if you google him, on top of being a very nice guy! Thanks for your input! PS, here is a current photo!
  18. Yes, the car is now in Sedona, had it shipped last week from Atlanta. I have an original set of hubcaps coming that have been stored since new in 1963. Thanks for the information though. Maybe they will have a rear axle seal which is also leaking!
  19. I'll have to measure it tomorrow when I go back to my shop. Here is the cars history, and photos of it at the bottom as I bought it,,,,,https://www.simplesevens.org/1167/1167.htm
  20. I think you are correct, it currently has mini lite style 5.5x13 rims and that width looks good on it. I already have some one selling me the correct hub caps. Thanks!
  21. No, that was the original owner, she bought it new at 19 years of age! She is happy I am restoring it back to original black from the yellow it is now. Its #1167
  22. Looking for 5 original steel 13 inch by 3.5 wheels, seem to be from a Triumph Herald from what Im told. Any leads would be appreciated!
