Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has any experience in trying to import a fully built Caterham, or other similar custom built cars, into Canada, specifically from the US (or if the origin country doesn’t matter much, then anywhere else in the world)? Has anyone done it successfully, and if so, how much of an effort is it? I currently own a Caterham and I might move to Canada in the next two years, so I wanted to know that importing it into Canada is possible at all, legally. Any insight is appreciated. Suppose i buy the Caterham, have it registered and licensed here in the US, move to Canada (which is in the books for me sometime next year or later), can I bring back the same car, to be used as a road legal one?

If I was buying a brand new Caterham 7, which is currently unregistered, what is the registration process for that in NY state? I came across this link in the DMV website (https://dmv.ny.gov/forms/vs100.pdf) which lists out every step clearly. But I’m guessing there’s more to it. I was wondering if anyone has any experience regarding it. or does anyone have other suggestions, like NJ, or Montana, etc? thanks

Hi all, I visited a friend last year in a Toronto, and his neighbor had a newly built Caterham 7 sitting in his garage. He took me for a spin and I loved it. Its a gorgeous red with black stripes. So, I was thinking of getting it, but as I started to look into it, the complexity of it all started to unravel. the final question is can I do it? If I wanted it, is there any way for me to import legally? If so, is that worth the headache? thanks in advance
