I'm planning on picking up some PVC and whatnot that @wdb showed in the video they linked, hopefully that'll be a start, and then maybe pick up some of the plates/etc if I think this is something I'll do again. I'm kinda thinking I might just end up at the shop I found and hope they are competent....

Thanks, that's a great video. I'll start with just PVC and strings and see where I get 😎
-
Do those work ok? Reviews I saw online were kinda hit or miss
-
I found a place through a car Facebook friend I'll check out - "oddball motor works" sounds right up our alley.

hyper7 started following Fuel gauge fix for newer Caterhams and Alignment suggestions

Hey all, as many of you know I finished up my build last fall and have been out a handful of times in my 420S, which is fantastic. I was thinking about it recently and realized I probably need to do an alignment to make sure everything is set properly and won't destroy my tires. Ive never done string alignment, but kinda know the theory behind it - is something like this worth it for better results? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/qta-416436 Or can I just take it to any local shop to have it laser aligned? I couldn't find any specialty shops around here (East side of Cleveland, Ohio) and don't know how much to trust normal shops...

Cool, yeah I got the replacement, but haven't popped it in the car yet. It's been subzero temps recently, and even in the garage it's cooooold
-
Just as a follow up, I got an email from Bruce that they found a wiring issue on my unit - so if anyone else has the problem I did, let them know!

Congrats! I'm jealous you were able to drive, we've had snow on the roads for like a month plus straight
-
Went with the soft bits one - I liked the idea of the easy in/out zippers..I had a hell of a time getting in and out the only time I drove it with the full hood on
-
Present to myself is on - not too bad once I deciphered what they were saying in the instructions. I really hated getting in and out with the full hood, so I opted for the easy-in zippers for the half hood.
-
Well in that case, here's the two pictures I sent to catmando in regards to the gauge correction unit.
-
I'll DM so as not to clog up this thread.

Mine isn't working 😞 The light comes on immediately when plugging in, regardless of the headlights being on/off, so I'm guessing something is backwards. I'll try and figure it out at some point, but since it's not driving season anymore in Ohio, it's a winter project...

I bought one of those fuel gauge correction units..it didn't work, so this is helpful info so I can troubleshoot it.
