  1. Bought some of the exhaust seal that was mentioned and will take off the clamps and see if I can find some that are wider. Will update soon, spring is around the corner. Thank you!
  2. Hey, car is about to be ready for the spring but I do have an exhaust leak. As you can see from the pictures and the black marks it's leaking where it connects. Is there any better way to seal this at all. I stink after just a short drive.
  3. I am painting my exige and wanted it the same color as the caterham F1 car. cto3 i think. Whats the color and paint code?
  4. well as i knew this was gonna take a long time, i am now trying to get an estimate from my shop and they are looking for the best shop that works with aluminum. They said the back panel can't be replaced and they would have to stretch the aluminum. He also said it will probably never be perfect like it used to be. Do you guys agree?
  5. Yes i agree i def need something like this, its scary how many people are attached to their phones these day...
  6. yes i will consider this, the brake light on the bar would help with safety. Its scary that that her bumper was only two feet away from my head….
  7. since i got rear ended i thought i might as well upgrade the rear end a little… so far i already have the carbon rear light blocks and back up lights here… http://www.carbonmods.co.uk/Products/carbon-fibre-rear-light-blocks-for-caterham.aspx http://www.carbonmods.co.uk/Products/carbon-fibre-reversing-fog-light-blocks.aspx and also bought a rear diffuser… http://www.reverie.ltd.uk/product_detail.php?search=caterham&part_code=R01SB0121 and since my car had the license bar thing i think i am going to have that removed and have the lights and license plate moved up to the back body panel like this…
  8. I don't know but she was following close since i never even saw her in my side mirrors. I drive defensively and am always looking in my mirrors since its such a small car, i have a feeling she might have been on her cell phone, but she hit me from behind so ill never know
  9. Yes, already talked with my insurance company and I'm am not going to have to pay anything since i was hit from behind while moving, thats a relief at least.
  10. I know the Top Gear shop in MN and they said they can already fix it, just waiting to hear back from the insurance company...
  11. Yes she impacted the bar and also made contact with the gas cap which got pushed in a little bit.
  12. thanks for the tips!
  13. Haha, i wish i could get the new caterham
  14. i was so happy to put on my new wheel spacers and drive today until this happened. I came up on a patch of road that was under repair with bumps and gravel and braked. The lady behind me in the ford explorer didn't brake. The back bar got pushed into the body work. I have no injuries which is the most important part. The car drove home like nothing happened. What do you guys think, easily fixable?
  15. The shifter and the harnesses are the original parts that came with the car. The belts have the red buckles and caterham written on the shoulder straps. I can take pictures of the parts if you'd like.
  16. Sorry, i meant to say PM for the prices.

  18. the new shifter came pictured just like this, except it didn't come with the straight shaft like it says. I don't mind though i like the bent shaft because the shift knob face the driver more http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/engine-tuning-parts-accessories/caterham-quickshift-gearlever I just took the old one out and directly put in the new one. If you look under the spring in the pic, its the socket that is responsible for the quick shift. It it much easier to mover the gear lever around in the socket compared to the old shifter.
  19. it isn't a shorter shifter, the gear change itself is quicker because of the bushing? or whatever its called. You barely need any force now to change gear, its a lot less stiff feeling.
  20. the height is the same as the stock unit. What makes it faster is the socket? Where the lever meets the circular joint. It is much easier to move than the stock unit even when out of the car. It that joint under the spring that is much easier to move resulting in a faster shift
  21. I drove the car today and love the new shifter. the shifts are effortless, its extremely easy to change gears. Reverse is also easier, i think they have a less stiff spring in the new shifter. I am really surprised at how smooth and quick you can shift now. The only thing about the new one is it does have the slightly longer shift throws. After driving for a while it didn't seem to mind the added length in the throw, i thought the smoothness and the quickness of the new shifter outweighed that. I would recommend this.
  22. ok, just installed it. First thing i notice is it extremely easy to put the car into any gear, you barely have to push on the shift knob for the car to go into gear which is pretty nice. The other thing i noticed is that the length of the gear throws has increased. Its faster to shift but the throw is longer now. I did like how short the throws were on the old shifter so I'm gonna have to drive it for a while and see if the faster shifting is worth the longer throws. other than that, the installation was simple after your guys help, thanks again!
  23. ok thanks for the response, what is the best way to get the tunnel top off? i have a 2003 s3
  24. yeah thats the same thing i was thinking, i don't know the best way to get around that shift boot
  25. can you remove the gear lever from the top at all or do you have to drop the trans? If you can remove the gearshift mechanism how do you do it? I bought this and was wondering the easiest way to install it. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/engine-tuning-parts-accessories/caterham-quickshift-gearlever
