  1. Problem solved! Found a 1/2" slash in the fuel line just where it attaches to the tank. A PO had covered it with some type of adhesive that had degraded with age. WOW, this car is fun!!!!
  2. OK... no fuel filter at the firewall. Replacing the fuel line to the filter and on to the pump. Fingers crossed!
  3. Where would I find that build manual??
  4. Just filled the tank, but it is something that I would do!! Fuel pump sounds fine... high volume jobby under the boot. Regulator (looks a bit hoopdy) at the throttle bodies. Fuel pressure is around 38psi at idle, stays close to that when I rev, but haven't checked it while pushing. "Alot" meaning a tornado of bubbles swarming the filter inside the housing. Looks like alot! Setup is a Zetec 2.0. Not certain of the build... cams are obvious, but unsure of actual displacement, compression, flywheel, etc. (the guys at wirewheel.com are doing what they can to track down whatever info they have on the builder/ prev owners). Has Lumenition individual throttle body FI system. ECU is a british make... not certain the name. Has MAP sensor. I will look for the second filter. The car is AWESOME(!!!!!!) other than this annoying problem. Plenty of power, well balanced, too loud, too much fun, etc.
  5. I have now completely bonded with my S1... while changing the fuel filter I mixed my blood with it's fuel, we're blood brothers!! Question:The car seems to be choked for fuel when above 3000 rpm. It sputters as if running out of gas, then will catch and run fine for awhile then repeat. The problem seems more prominent when under stress (rapid acceleration, pulling a hill). After putting a glass fuel filter in line, I noticed that there is a large amount of air circulating in the fuel filter (prior to the pump). Probably the culprit... no?
  6. "The washer it is !" he said wiping the overspray from his way too cool shades.
  7. It looks a bit like a transmission with a bell housing on it.
  8. The car was just delivered on Saturday... what a weekend!!!! Here is my first of (I'm sure) many questions: What is the second switch from the left (next to the wiper switch)?
  9. The deed is done! The S1 is on it's westbound journey! I'm still trembling with excitement (and maybe a bit of fear?) from my test drive on a damp Mississippi highway. I've never experienced breaking traction on acceleration from 50 before! As my 6-year-old said when she saw the S1..."that's not a car, it's a spaceship!".
  10. Thanks for all of the advice and encouragement, I have to admit that I've had more than a few "OH S**T!!" moments since committing to this. Thankfully my wife and especially my 6-year-old are both very excited about the car as well (the wife will just be happy to see the Jensen Healey go away!!). Is there anything specific to an S1 that I should look for? What should I be smelling for wrt the oil and tranny fluid? I'm located just outside of Los Angeles (Topanga Canyon for those familiar with the area). Looking forward to my drives home!!!
  11. Thanks for the reply Steve. I was hoping that you would respond! The body # is SPS0017. Was the digital gauge package not an OEM option? I know that the current owner bought the car for $20,300.00 in April,2008 from Wirewheels.com. It was in Vero Beach, Fl and had 2000mi. at that time. The digital gauges were on the car at that time as well. Is there anything specific to S1's that I should inspect? (ie. structural weak points, suspension components). How can I find out who the builder was?
  12. Ebay link is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180432204541&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_620wt_1167

The car has a Mississippi title and is registered under a 1965 Lotus. It has it's orginal paint work. The body has no damage except for a penny size dent on the hood that was caused by the previous owner. The fuel and speed gauges are digital but not accurate, I haven't had time to figure out what the problem is. I don't know of any mechanical issues. The car may weigh between 1600-1800lbs. The car is kept in south Mississippi but it has NEVER been flooded. I keep it in an large shop out of the weather.
  14. I hit "Buy it Now" on the Superformance S1 that was recently listed on EBAY. I'm flying out to Mississippi on Sunday to check it out. Does any one in the Seven Intelligence Community have any suggestions as to what I should look for or ask when I am out there? Does anyone have any first-hand info on this car? Any help will be appreciated! :auto:
  15. I've been lurking these pages for quite sometime with the intention of buying a Seven "someday". That day was last Tuesday. I saw this thread on Monday night and quite impulsively hit "Buy It Now" on Tuesday. I'm flying out to Mississippi next Sunday to check it out. If it's all good, I will be promoted to the rank of Owner next week!! A question for the in-the-know, is there anything specific that I should look for/ask when checking this car out? Any input will be appreciated!
  16. OUCH!!! Being a current Jensen Healy owner, that cuts a little close to the bone!!
