Update to my autocross season: I ran as many events as possible. The fellow I bought the car from, Jeff Cashmore won his 10th national title in it in September, the sixth by him in this car. I got beat by a bunch of old men and children...(just kidding about the children). His wife also won running my car the first day and second day running the latest creation from its builder, Del Long. As he crossed the finish line on his first run of the second day of competition a rod bolt let go. Although another competitor beat his second day singletary (he made two more runs in Del's newest car) time he had enough of a lead to win overall. I am in the process of rebuilding the motor just like it was but with a few improvements.....a bit more compression and lighter rods. I am hoping to modify the car to add aero to match or beat the aero on the car that beat us the second day. The red car is another seven replica built by Del Long with some serious aero on front and rear. The top picture is of Jeff driving my car from before I owned it. It still looks just like this. -

I just found the posted results. I was beaten out for FTD by a fast shifter kart. As an unopposed D mod I was scored in a PAX class and was classified 5th with the shifter kart right ahead of me. -
will pay a reasonable price. Wanting to add front spoiler and splitter. Tom Walgamuth 765 49zero 0275 twalgamuth(at)Comcast(dot)net

Anybody have a source for the clamshell fenders? I'm considering adding a front air dam and splitter. -

Went to an event up in Gary yesterday. Got 8 runs, four and four. It is a slippery sandy parking lot (asphalt). I was hopeless on cold tires and spun twice, but at the end of each session managed one good clean lap. I felt good about the results as my last run was fast and smooth. -

Thanks very much! Today went to a test and tune and got in about 20 runs. A very fast Lotus Elan D mod car was there and schooled me. I got a lot of practice in in the new car though and am gaining competence in driving it. I am pushing harder now and managed to spin out twice without knocking any cones over (not as if I really had anything to do with not knocking over cones). Started left foot braking too. That seems to be working well. -

Ran another event on Sunday. this time had two other drivers sharing a pretty fast D mod with Honda s2000 motor....both experienced autocrossers (20 years plus). Both have a lot more experience in their car than I in mine. The faster of them started out with a 36.9 and on his sixth run got it down to a 36.1. I started with two over 40 then reduced each run until I got it down to nip them at the end with a 35.773. Its lots more fun when you have d mod competition! Yep...having fun! -
So anybody have a weight including brackets for the cycle fenders?

Does anybody have the weight of the cycle fenders and the weight of the clamshells?

Here are the pics. I came here today to look at weights for cycle fenders. I have run two events now. The car is explosively fast. You do a lot of steering with the throttle. The handling is very benign and you can get further sideways in it and still catch it than any car I have driven. Woooo Hoooooo! Its a gas. That's the PO driving. I don't have any yet with me driving. -
Want to buy an enclosed trailer 20 to 28'.
t walgamuth replied to t walgamuth's topic in Cars For Sale
I bought a trailer today. Its 26' and well used but seems in good condition. It doesn't appear to leak, and the lights and brakes work. Suspension seems fine too twist tube axle. Its a flat top 2004 Haulmark. It needs new tires. I got it for $4,550 including all taxes and four new tires loose. I bought it from a dealer at us 36 and IN 43 near Greencastle. I had looked at all the trailers that they had up ready to go and the best deal was a 24 foot used for $5200 asking. As I left I looked once more at their trailers and spotted a few older ones that they had not mentioned but they looked ok so I turned around and asked about this one. He named me an as is price on it saying they just got it in and had not even really checked It out. So I went and checked the lights and brakes and towed it up to the office and parked it where he could not see I had hooked it up and went in to do a little negotiating. He did go look at it and made a comment about pricing it too low but he did honor his price and sold me four tires for his cost. It seems in good shape and even has an awning on the side. So maybe I am nutz or maybe just very lucky! Thanks all! -
Will pay a reasonable price. Will consider an older trailer. Must be sound and ready to use with minor repairs. I'd love to find something for 2500 to 3000. I'm in Lafayette Indiana. I'm going to pick up a race car in the Milwaukee area so buying a trailer up that way would work. Tom Walgamuth 765 49zero zero275

Here is a picture of the car at speed with Jeff Cashmore driving. I dig the tractor flapper on the exhaust.
