  1. Took the "PRISNR" out a couple Sundays back on the first "spring-like" day we have had. Nice country 2 lane roads. Mt Vernon Rd out of Auburn to Lincoln, CA. and then back up HWY 193 to Newcastle and home. Nice green countryside...in two months it will be "California golden"...read BROWN! Purred like a kitten. Lots of motorcycles out that day. They invariably gave me the high sign as we passed. Even got to check the speedo on one of those "complementary" radar trailers our local Sheriff parks along the road to scare folks into jumping on their brakes in panic. Since the speedo is over on the passenger side of the dash, I checked out the tach. With a pleasing exhaust note at 2900 rpm on the trusty Spridget motor I get 55 mph.:driving: Maybe admissable in court someday???:nopity:
  2. Thanks...glad you folks like it. It is not a "concours" restoration...as if there is such a thing for a Seven...but done leaving some of the patina from the past 47 years. It's a fun driver and meant for that purpose. Hope to cross paths with a few of you eventually...in your Sevens!
  3. My racing partner kept it, along with the DSK front suspension bits when we took it back to 'street' condition. It may find it's way into something in the future...like a stealth Elite!
  4. Now that I've figured out photo posting.... #1 Engine mock up #2 New electric rad fan #3 Major progress #4 Headers into 3" exhaust #5 Instrument panel and cowl
  5. OK..let's see if these show up... #1 Wiring for fun and profit #2 The "Heart of Rock and Roll" #3 The Ugly Beginning
  6. By popular demand...ONE person asked for more details:D..here's some info and phots of mySeven during it's revival. BMC series A engine 1275 cc +.020 overbore, mild cam, 3 branch exhaust, twin SU's Spridget transmission Reinforce Triumph rear axle Minilites with skinny 155 x 80 x 13 tires Chrono tach and speedo Pretty much what a Seven America would have been except for the "improvements". Since most of the photos are bigger than the upload limits I'll send you to www.simplesevens.com and look up #2073 for more story and photos.
  7. I attend, weather permitting:), a group called Euro Sunday: http://www.eurosunday.net/index.html. They meet at various locations around the Sacramento area on the fourth Sunday of the month. It's early...8-10AM...so you'd need to leave Tahoe at "oh-dark-thirty". After the low key get together, there is often a planned tour/drive to another location, sometimes for lunch, etc. Other than that, I take the 7 to the Auburn Cruise Nights (2nd Friday May-Sept) in downtown Auburn. But they take only pre 1972 cars. http://www.auburncruisenite.com/ for details and history photos.
  8. Yes, that's me on simplesevens and a brief account of the restoration. I'll post somemore photos and specs in the next day or two in the "Rides" section. Meanwhile, anyone interest in the process can read the simplesevens story.
  9. Hello USA7s, Found this site from the list in the current Sports & Exotic Car issue article on the 7 and it's iterrations. Here's what sits in my garage when not out on the back roads of the Sierra foothills. As for the license plate, KAR120C was already taken. Loved the original run of The Prisoner in 1967 so when I did up the 7 I figured the plate and surround would pique interest. And I can tell the "age" of those who know where the statement comes from! Anyway, I hope I can contribute something worthwhile to the group.
