AndyB
I just took delivery of what I believe is an old stock new in box shift lever gator/boot, I last replaced it in 2009. Is there anything I can apply to make it last a little longer or is it already too late bearing in mind the last time they built a GT6/Spitfire was 1980? Taber10
Andy8, I spend some time on the Miata sites, as I have the 1991 BRG Special Edition. Those guys swear by "303 Aerospace Protectant" for the shifter boot rubber pieces--there are a couple in the Miata and they deteriorate "within an hour" according to one post. I found it at a Marine supply house like "West Marine" and one poster mentioned Ace Hardware as a source. OF COURSE, I'm not arguing with Skip on anything--Caterham or Miata--as he has more knowledge, experience and intelligence than I!
