m wirth Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Just finished these up today and went for a 35 degree sunny Blat to Crown Point in the Columbia Gorge, 50mph gusts. I think my left eye was 50 percent less frozen than without these wings so they should be great when I'm not wearing a helmet in more normal driving weather, I use an open face. Just another idea.
RGTorque Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 can you make a template? id love to try this on my own
m wirth Posted November 30, 2015 Author Posted November 30, 2015 Maurice, thanks for the nice comment. Roman, here is the pattern, I just used some 1/4 mdf and a pattern cutting bit on my router shaper, held the lexan to the pattern with double sided tape. I used a slightly thinner polycarbonate than the existing windscreen. mike
US Texas 7 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Looks good and a bit larger than new screens I cut for my S2K. I used clear lexan, easy to saw and sand the edges. Also easy to drill and form. I added two inch on the outboard end and four inch inboard so they touch in the center. roughly same height and shape as originals. They cut down wind and also much better than the original dark screen at night. First picture is original and second are the larger screens. Thanks for the information I get from you guy's. Robert .
