Wcm ultralight replacement seat?

I may have asked this a few years back but I wanted a new seat for my ultralight. Mine has a full size racing seat for the driver and a small WCM embroidered passenger seat. The driver seat sits high and my head is above the wind screen. I was thinking of putting the passenger seat in the drivers side but the full size seat is too wide to fit in the passages side. I really just wanted new seats but I heard they aren't made anymore. I think I was told kirkey made them and they were a custom low back Miata seat. Anyone ever out different seats in or know where I can get one?

The Kirkey seats are well made and reasonably priced. They also come in a variety of widths. The seatcovers incorporate the contoured padding. I picked up a pair for my Birkin and modified them to fit. Use a carbide disc to remove the edge beading and save it. After using a saber saw to trim to size, the edge bead can be welded back in place. Just hit it with a mapp torch to anneal it into place. Any upholstery shop can modify the covers to fit. Check their website.

The seats in my Ultralite are Ultrashields.https://www.ultrashieldrace.com/

As I remember, they were 20 degree layback drag seats, with the top of the back cut down in height. !8"wide driver, 14" wide passenger. I am at work , but I can see if I have any more info at home tonight.

Brian had Ultrashield make the seats special, and the covers were special too.

Thanks for the reply powderbrake. I will have to give them a call and see if they can still make me a seat. If you do fine anymore info that would be great!

I looked at my old correspondence with Brian Anderson from when I got my Kit, and he said they used 18" Pro Circle Track driver, and 16" Pro Drag for passenger. I am not sure if the passenger is 16", I thought they were 14", but you can measure your width and get what you need.

As it turned out , I found the ribcage bolsters were too high on the Pro Circle Track 18" seat. They rubbed under my arms, so Brian sent me an 18" Pro Drag seat as a replacement, the side supports are lower.

The current Ultrashield website pictures of the Pro Drag seats show a much lower side bolster than my seats (2004 era). My seats look more like the current Pro Circle track, with a slightly lower, and less curved bolster. p.s. All the seats we are discussing are 20 degree layback. In addition, my notes say the seat headrests were cut down 6" from normal, which made them custom.

Here are some pics of the original seats ( pro CT driver), and the current driver's seat( Pro Drag). You can see the difference in the side bolsters.

If the height of the drivers seat puts your head too high, perhaps the seat is on some riser blocks. I have my passenger seat bolted to the floor pan, and I have 1" square tubing below my drivers seat to raise me up. Without the rise, I could not see the right front fender. I also increased the height of my windscreens about 2".

I got some lexan, and laid my old screens on the new sheet, added about 2" across the bottom, and cut out new screens. It really helps a lot on the wind in the hair. With the old screens, and no hat, my hair would HURT after a ride.
