andrew7 Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Its nice to see our brothers across the pond enjoying their sevens like we did on that memorable day. :Hurray: I bet Lotus wasn't there because its not the OFFICIAL birthday of the 7. :cuss: They should get over themselves.
Al N. Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 You know the funny thing is that when I posted a link to the pix of our meet over on blat chat...we got many thumbs up and compliments. One person even remarked something to the effect of "I think mixed-marque meets are the way to go for you guys over in the US". It's only the uber-purists who have gotten hung up on the "historical accurracy" of the date — there were quite a few regional meets over in the UK on 777...I think they had worse weather that day than we didd.
andrew7 Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Our goal was to have fun and enjoy our cars and each other. We didn't care if it was an orignal series 1 or a stick-built locost. I had an ice-cream dessert before the photo I believe with Dean and his wife(the '58 with no engine) discussing both his car and mine. That's what I like about the club. Before 7/7/7 I checked several Lotus sites/forums and Caterham event schedules in the US and I found no mention of our get together. I might have missed it but it looked like they were overlooking the event on purpose. Are the only real sevens the ones with Lotus on the hoods? Wait... were did I put that sticker. There are too few of us around here to segregate. "Can't we all just get along":smash:  To all the purist I've offended with my not original clubman, I apologize. :grouphug: I'm leaving the pulpit now. Did Al make me club chaplin when I said grace?:surprised:
