JackS Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I have not seen the car yet but a friend has (he was looking at a 911 by the same seller). Here is what little I know. Ran when parked 15 years ago, has not be run since. Early 60's model, one owner (now deceased, being sold by his son), RHD. At some point the engine was changed (original engine did not have enough hp). Hood may not be original, has a hood scoop. Everything looks straight but it will need to be dug out to get a better look. Any general ideas of what it might be worth? Also, are there any critical points to look for? Thanks
WestTexasS2K Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I assume you have pics because I am not sure what it is you found.

Well a car that has been sitting for 15 years will require a complete going through. Offer the seller $1000 with the understanding that it will require a complete restoration. See if he'll bite. Rob
locostv8 Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I'm frugal/cheep I would take the $1000 but would offer $500 first. I would be sure that I could get a title since the owner is deceased. If al else fails for title there is always the storage lien which works in most states.

(which all that is needed for a car this old in Georgia). Rob
WestTexasS2K Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Sorry missed the part where you said you havent seen it yet. I would start low and let them counter with another price. I ofter start at 250 when I am buying cars like that. Most of the time they just want to get rid of it. Good luck and send us some pics of your barn find.
Boxologist Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 the VIN # is worth it. Even if the S2 is not restorable. Birkin/Deman build time w/ historic or collector plates.
JackS Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 Guys Thanks for the advice. If I decide to get it, I will let the board know. Jack
