The PNW2007 has started! We gathered this evening at Woody's shop (MSI Motorsports) in Vacaville, California, talked a bit, then headed over to the local airport for a very nice BBQ dinner and Larry's homebrewed beer.

I didn't get good car photos yet, but here are a few of us gathered at Woody and Larry's garage:

At the airport, Woody showed us his other "Seven":

Just before the tour started, I decided to make some major changes to my car to make it more comfortable for touring.

Here is a before shot:

And here is after:

I'd say the changes were successful as I arrived relaxed with my hair in place!

Actually, my Birkin had problems I couldn't fix before the tour started so I had to go with the backup car.

Still, I plan to have fun.

Well, at least we tried and spent a better part of a Sunday to exorcise the Gremlin in Stan's engine without success.

Here a pic of my car loaded up and ready to leave:

Two more pics of our BBQ place at the airport museum:

Oh man, that sucks! what's wrong with Stan's car?

It recently developed a hesitation that progresses to the engine dying within a few miles. The car runs fine for anywhere from 20 to 120 miles, then a stumbling/surging starts then dies, and it takes about an hour before I can go again. I replaced the fuel pump/filter/lines and the plugs/plug wires/coil, and various sensors. Gert, Magnus, and Doug (local Seven's owners who know alot more about cars than I do) spent a day 2 weeks ago checking the car and running various tests, but we couldn't find the problem. Woody and Larry have given me some more ideas on what to look for when I get back.

Oh well, time for breakfast and then on to Weaverville!

Hello and safe traveling to all.

Who owens the fine looking C1A that you all parked around at your BBQ.

First A/C that I was assigned to fly was a COD out of Rota Spain in the early 70's. I have always told my wife if I had the choice of all the NAVY Aircraft I have flown for my own I would want a C1A to play with, I guess I am just semental.
