2021 SCCA Solo Nationals Coverage?

Recommended Posts

I guess not?

But I will be watching USA7S member, Craig  Chima, when he lines his pole position Lotus 7 up tomorrow for the FP class race at  the SCCA’s 2021 Runoffs. Craig won the FP race in his Lotus 7 last year. Can he make it 2 in a row? The racing gods typically have something to say on the matter, so we shall see.

Historical perspective? does anyone have data that indicates why super 7s run in F production now and run with some Sprites and MG Midgets? Did they add loads of ballast? I have not kept up, but certainly remember when the 7 America (Sprite power) was in F since I ran against them with my Sunbeam Alpine. No way we could come close to  any super 7 with Cosworth 1500 that ran in D at that time. I think they moved from D to B at one point and back but challenging slower Corvettes, at least on courses like Marlboro with no long straights.

Jason Minehart placed Second at Nationals in the E Modified class with a Stalker AXR. Scott Minehart, his younger brother and the designer, builder and owner of Stalker cars placed Fourth in E-Mod in his other brother's K-20 Supercharged Stalker that Scott helped him build.
