Al N.
Folks, I've been playing with the idea of starting an "ace cafe" type thing at a local garage in my area. The idea is to have semi-regular "drive ins" for various marques, do a bit of driving, and then fool around with slot cars, then eat and go about our day. To see if the idea holds water, I'm going to host the first of these drive-ins on Sunday, Sept 23. The tentative schedule is to meet up at 8:00 AM, leave for a 1.5 hour drive on windy country roads at 8:30. Come back to Frenchtown for some donuts, coffee, and slot car racing. Then eat at place in town for lunch or go on your way. Here is the rendezvous: Race Street Garage, Frenchtown NJ Note that this may not be the actual address, but the intersection is correct. There is a gas station across the street from the garage. All marques (and not just LSiS cars) welcome. The rain date is Sept 30, 2007. Same time and place. ---- Note that I am going to change the meet time to 11:00 AM. No slots, just blatting.
BruceBowker
Seems I always miss these things but if anyone is game for Nov 3 or 4, I will be in Milford. Bruce
Boxologist
i probably won't be able to make the 23rd as there's car show out here. 30th is a possibility unless that trns out to be a rain date here as well.

Al N.
I was out solo today...had a great drive (weather was great and roads not too crowded). I ran into a convoy of fun cars that included a Bugeye and a pretty Iso Grifo, but when I got on it a little they didn't feel like playing, I guess. What I realized as I putt-putted along waiting for them is that, gosh darnit, I like to drive the car a little quickly in the twisties. For me, it's not worth going out for a drive if you aren't going to give it some throttle at least once or twice. It's what the cars are made for, wind buffeting be damned.
