Not sure. Keep asking him to finish but recently he hasn't done anything! Said he isn't sure of powertrain donor so he has put off any work on the centre tunnel, rear, etc. until he finds one.

 

BTW does anyone have access to a late model Caterham spaceframe chassis? Need some dimensions for the 'rear bulkhead' A (width) and B (height) measured from inside the rectangle. From pictures on the net I presume its 3/4" square section. Thanks!

I can provide any dimensions you need from a Birkin S3 live axle chassis, but don't have info on the Caterham chassis. There are a lot of similarities but the tunnel rear bulk head are definitely different.

 

Out of curiousity are you modeling it up for fun, to recreate your own copy, or to use this as a starting point and modify to suit a different drivetrain and/or suspension?

Thanks Birkin42. I'm building a Sevenesque with a Ford Escort Mk2 Ghia 1600cc as a donor. Hence, engine will be Kent Crossflow 1600cc with matching gearbox, propshaft and rear axle.

For a Solidworks model of the "Book Chassis," ie. Champion's, take a look at Jim McSorley's site http://mcsorley.net/locost/. He has an IGES drawing of the standard chassis as well as pdf's of several mode such as his 442 chassis.

 

The IGES file can easily be imported in Solidworks.
