Well I am finally rested from the Midwest Se7en Gathering at the Brits in the Ozarks Car Show in Fayetteville, Ark. It was a lot of fun I tell you. On Friday I went out on one of their self guided tours that they had all mapped out for participants to go on. There are more twisties down there than a bread factory. On one stretch I went for twenty miles and could not see more than about 100 yards of road in front of me at any one time. About half way through my morning blat I saw a sign for an old grist mill just off the road a bit so I thought I would take a break and drive down to it. When I got to the parking lot there was hardly any parking places left. It was full of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and other exotics. These were not kit cars but the REAL things. It seems that the Kansas City Ferrari Club was down there on an Ozark tour. I counted over 30 cars and most of them were worth well over $175,000 each. I pulled in the parking lot and all eyes were on my car. When I stopped several of the drivers came over to scope out my Locost and ask me questions. All I wanted to do was go over and look at their cars. It was a very fun time. I have never seen more than 1 or 2 of these types of cars in one spot before. And to see 30+, I was like a kid in a candy shop. When I got back to the hotel later that afternoon I had to wash a lot of Arkansas’ finest bugs off the front of my car. Got to look good for the reception that evening, you know. Thank goodness I have a windshield. On Saturday they had over 160 cars in the show. Mine was the only Locost but there was a super clean Lotus 7 racer in my class (Race/modified) along with several other cars. I did not win anything this year but that is not the reason I went. I went to talk up the Locost concept and to meet with several people who post on this site including Dr. Hess, Ed Young, Julian D, and about 7 or 8 others who’s names I can’t remember (Getting old sucks). I handed out over 40 fliers describing the Locost ideals and listing out the most popular websites, manufactures, and what books to buy to do a build. Hopefully we will see some new names pop up soon. Time to get some more rest, Russ

My brother and I attended, bringing a couple of Atoms for display only. The 1962 Super 7 was beautiful and my bro spent about an hour talking with 7018. We're thinking about building a LC or two to add to our stable. Here's a couple of photos from Saturday.

Has anybody built one with the Honda S2000 drivetrain?

Sorry, forgot you can blow the pix up by clicking on them... it is indeed a Cosworth - similar to this one here from the 7/7/07 bash

Can't remember who's it is - I'm sure someone here will lay claim to it.

The one in Fayetteville belongs to Bill Rinke out of Branson, Mo

As for S2000 builds I think there are at least 2 builds going on right now. Check the archives. Also check the Yahoo site and the Locostusa sites. Those Atoms were nnnnniiiiiiiccccceeeee, Russ

I think the S2000 would make a really nice choice with it's high reving nature and a 6 speed tranny. I'd also like to consider a turbo'd Ecotec from the Solstice/Sky platform. Won't shound as good but should have a nice wide powerband. Once I get a chance to recover from AtomFest I'll have some time to consider it all.
