shotgunslade
Does anyone have any experience with Lexan windscreens, especially in New Jersey? I am trying to get all the details sorted out for my foray to DMVA when the Ultralite arrives in March> Thanks.
jbanker
I am using Polycarbonate with Supercoat. It does not scratch. Has been on the car for over 16000 miles. Got it from www.racingshields.com. Kind of spendy but it does work. Down stroke is that the flat sheet is only 3/16" thick. I have a slight curvature at the base at the skuttle which helps a ton. With your Ultralight and the curved windscreens that would not be a problem. NJ inspection might be another issue that I am not aware of. Keith
In Colorado, a windshield has to be safety glass. It's cheaper than polycarbonate (generic term for Lexan) anyhow, but only if you want flat.
Al N.
I'm going to post an idea over on usa@se7ens.net (as opposed to this open forum) regarding windshields as it applies to NJ. Not unlike those bumpers and exhaust guards that fall off on your way home from passing an inspection....
