Saudio
I took my 620 to TOTD for the first time last week, although it's my third trip there with three different cars. This time, though, they had completely repaved the entire course (in April) and they did an outstanding job. I had an absolute ball and my arms were pretty tired at the end of the day. There is a whole lot of heavy-duty turning to be done there. I actually like TOTD better than a day at the track, just because of the flexibility and scenery, and it's free! I bought two shots from the photo stations along the route, and I like both except for the driver. In one I'm mouth breathing and in the other one I'm evidently pinching a loaf.

Stalker LS3
I follow one of the Tail Of The Dragon FB pages. WAY to many people crashing, crossing the yellow and crashing or running into another vehicle. I will only go during the week now, Tue, Wed or Thur. Life is really good and I don't need some idiot changing it for me. This info worth what you paid for it......
theDreamer
As I’ve mentioned in other threads the wife and I have been attending a Ducati rally in the area since 1999. https://usa7s.net/ips/topic/14607-tail-of-the-dragon-with-an-interesting-friend/#comment-138333 I agree, far too many crashes. If you wish to enjoy the drive do it early morning mid-week. There are so many otherer roads with less traffic within 1 -2 hours of Robbinsville. Our group usually stays in Murphy and goes in a different direction each day. We had hoped to get a trailer hitch and light trailer for the wife’s Crosstrek Wilderness to take our purple pocket rocket back down this coming weekend. However, the sister-in-law has been in and out of hospital and we figured it was just a matter of time. The funeral is tomorrow so we made the right call. But next year we plan on making at least one trip down that way with our seven. I may have shared this map before but here it is again. Its not to scale and nearly 30 years old but gives a good idea of all the other routes open to explore. Edited September 23 by theDreamer

I will say though that I've driven it basically all day for three days and have not personally seen any close calls. FWIW.
