Jeff Ball
My newly acquired RHD 1996 Caterham 1600 Sprint was works-assembled for a UK customer. Is there a way to obtain a 'build sheet' which includes standard components, options and specified items included in the assembly of the vehicle? This is the 4th Seven I have owned; first three were all new when purchased: 1965 Lotus Series 2 Cosworth Super Seven, 1970 Lotus Twincam SS (#8 of 13 built and tested in Road & Track) and 1995 Caterham Vauxhall 235hp I assembled. All four: RHD. Thanks for any help or insights! Jeff Ball
JohnCh
Martin Phipps is the Caterham archivist and may be able to help. I don't like publicly posting someone's PII without their permission, but if you go to the post below, he lists his email address there. I'm not sure if his help extends to non C&L7C members, but never hurts to ask: https://www.caterhamlotus7.club/forums/topic/274739-1983-caterham-bdr-cosworth-engine-nr-bdr001/?do=findComment&comment=2604188 -John
anthony1956
Interesting, just having a look. I think Martin will help you regardless. https://www.caterhamlotus7.club/guides/165_chassis-fittings/chassis-numbers-what-do-they-mean/ Also do you have an Arch Motors frame number ? Found under the right side roll bar mount, sometimes in view without removing it. Usually starts AM961234 (probably 4 digits) sometimes a J1 or J2 number standing for Jig 1 or Jig 2. " Is there a way to obtain a 'build sheet' which includes standard components, options and specified items included in the assembly of the vehicle?" Yes I reckon so, he found quite a bit for my 1987 car, including the purchase order. So not the build sheets, but the invoiced order pages. .
