dewme5
I've got to say, the best fabrication show going right now, is Extreme 4X4 on spikeTV. Sure, it's based on giant tires, and slinging mud, but if you look past that, there is so much more. They build tube frame chassis almost every show, cover drive shaft angle's, welding tech, tools. If there is one show on tv that would make your build come out better, this is my vote.
slngsht
I'll have to see if we have that channel.
Mandurath
I think a bunch of the shows they have are pretty good during the "Power Block". Kinda nice to actually hear the car instead of blaring music. I know my wife laughs at me, and do not get me wrong as I appreciate a good looking woman, but on shows like NOPI I just want them to move out of the way so I can see the cars. dewme5
I really don't put it in the same group as NOPI tunervision/street tuner etc. Trucks is about useless, Horsepower tv is all about bolt ons. Musclecar is pretty good, but half of that show is always paint and body which while important, not something I want to see everyday. Extreme 4X4 always has a lot of important tech info, going into formulas, and how to and why's. The amount of tube chassis they deal with, really make it a must watch. Mandurath
I like trucks, esp when Stacy hosted the show. Don't think he does anymore, but I don't get to watch much anymore either. But always liked his builds and how to's. From rolling a bead, to making louvers and custom floor pans, he did quite a bit. A few things like the beads will be incorporated into my car. Jon W.
I agree that Extreme 4x4 is usually good and Musclecar does some chassis fabrication also. I think the hosts' personalities are important. And why am I so attracted to a woman who TIG welds three times better that I do so? I figure if I can learn one trick or tip in a 30 minute show, it was worthwhile. But then I have the TV on continuously while in the garage building my car. I often have the sound low/muted so I can hear the Sirius sat radio. I'm up to 800 hours on my current build so the TV time adds up. Fabrication shows are beneficial in another way. They give me confidence to attempt building a car when I see the chopper building bozos (American Chopper) making bikes that actually work. BTW: Stacy David and "Trucks" is on another network now. He is an experienced fabricator and knows how to do some metal shaping also.
