ex-driver
Wow, Locost 5.0's car looks very nice. A 5L engine in such a light car must be fun (or maybe even scary). :7fume:

Locost 5.0
Slngsht, 315/35-17 on 17x10.5 in back and 275/40-17 on 17x9 on front. It pretty close to being done, almost ready for the final tear down. I'm soooo ready. Martin, I made the grill from stainless brake line, the wheel centers came from some guy on ebay. manik
Westfield produces the SEiGHT which utilizes the alloy Rover V8. We have a customer who is putting an LS1 into his SEiGHT though, with a Corvette 6-speed gearbox. Should be 'adequate' as the British say in respect to horsepower. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1516928365_ducted_nose2.jpg tm
slngsht
Tom, when you say "corvette" 6 speed, do you mean a C5 corvette? In the C5, the T56 is bolted on to the differential, with a torque tube connecting it to the bellhousing. It's a great setup for a front engined car, but the problem is the tranny will sit right where we need the hip room.
WestTexasS2K
Slngsht didnt the c4 vettes have the standeard T56 tranny connected to the engine? The rear diff set up came in the C5 version didnt it?
slngsht
yes. that's correct... well the configuration part at least. I'm not sure which 6 speed was in the C4... I thought they had the ZF units.
WestTexasS2K
T56 started in 94 the ZF was prior. From what I recall. Researched these dudes alot when I put the T56 in my Z car behind the 69 396 BBC.

You *can* fit an Elite transaxle to the back of a Westfield in place of the traditional diff. It's just a little more expensive. http://www.eliteracingtransmissions.com/ tm
