I've been farting around on YouTube lately and have built a SEVENs Channel.

Let's see if this works ... Gosh Darned Button Thingee.

(YouTube) SEVENs Anonymous

An Interest in ...

A Passion for ...

SEVENs

I know, I know, ... you're an enthusiast and you you're "Passionate" about SEVENS, right?

Well, who wouldn't be? ... Just consider the history.

Wikipedia says:

"The Lotus Seven was a small, simple,

lightweight two-seater open-top sports car produced by Lotus Cars (initially called Lotus Engineering) between 1957 and 1972. It was designed by Lotus founder Colin Chapman and has been considered the embodiment of the Lotus philosophy of performance through low weight and simplicity. The original model was highly successful with more than 2,500 cars sold, due to its attraction as a road legal car that could be used for clubman racing. After Lotus ended production of the Seven, Caterham bought the rights to it, and today make both kits and fully assembled cars."

"Since the design of the Lotus Seven is so simple, over 160 companies have offered replicas or Seven-type cars over the years. Such cars are often referred to as being "sevenesque" or a "se7en". Sometimes they are also called clubmans."

You can even build a SE7EN (called a Locost) using Ron Champion's Book "Build Your Own Sports Car for as Little as £250 and Race It!"

To me, it doesn't matter whether you own a Caterham, Westfield, any other SE7EN or a (build your own) Locost!

That's because these little cars are not only someone's engineering rights. (ie "Seven", "7", and the "Super 7" logo device are registered trademarks of Caterham Cars Limited.)

They are clearly much more than that.

I believe that SEVENs are really a worldwide phenomenon (a movement if you will) created by and for enthusiasts (nutters like us) who drive their automotive dreams true to what Colin Chapman said ... "Add Lightness".

With so many "Enthusiasts" building, driving and racing SEVENs virtually everywhere, one has to ask ... is this worldwide "Interest" in "SEVENs" just a "Passion"... or ... is it really an "Obsession"?

Oh, but...you're not "Obsessed", are you?

I know what your thinking. ... I used to think the same way myself!

Come on now, you know what I'm talking about, ... all that stuff like:

* I'll just do a few more "lines" on Blat Chat. ... It's OK! ... I can stop whenever I want.

* I'll just "shoot" a few more SEVENs Vids, then I'll stop. ... I know when to quit!

* I'll just "pop" a few Pics of my Fabulous SEVEN to share with some friends on-line! ... It's nothing to worry about. ... They're just pictures. ... I'll be fine!

* I'll just check out a few more SEVENs Builds. ... I can handle it!

* I'll just read a few more SEVENs Blogs and then that will be enough.

But it's no good!

It's NEVER enough, is it?

You know, ... that's how it is for us.

We think that we are Enthusiastic and Passionate, yet everyone tells us that we are just plain "Nuts"!

Let's face it. ... We're all Addicted ... to SEVENS!

There, there now, don't be upset! ... Relax! ... It's OK! ... Don't worry! ... After all, that's why we're here too!

So let's just come clean and admit the truth!

Now repeat after me:

"Hello ... My name is John and I'm Addicted to SEVENs".

Hey Busa,

I resemble that remark. I went back to my first post in the "Tell us about yourself" thread and found this lead off:

"Hi, my name is Skip. I am an addict. I don't remember the first time I saw a Seven, it was a long time ago."

You aren't helping the problem you know, first its the YouTube friends list and now this streaming thing. You are a (gasp) facilitator!

I can't even get a decent fix as my Se7en is up on stands and I can't work on it and even if it was roadworthy the docs won't let me drive it.

So, thanks and keep them coming, the YouTube vids and this forum is all that stands between me and cold turkey withdrawal, it ain't a pretty prospect.
